We’re halfway through the year and summer’s in full swing — with temperatures hitting record highs. But nothing is as hot as the updates we’ve got for you this month. Here’s what’s new in Bitcoin, Breez, and Lightning:
👋 Welcoming New SDK Partners
🤳 Bringing Bitcoin to Simple Devices
🤓 Klever’s Journey in Bitcoin
⚡️ Lightning in the Wild: Bansko
🚴 Breez on the Road
Welcome, Class of Q2 🎓
It feels like only yesterday that we celebrated our first Breez SDK graduates. But just like that, we’re back with a whole new class — consisting of twelve new, innovative apps bringing bitcoin inside the products people use every day.
From wallets to Telegram-based saving communities, these new graduates prove that bitcoin can power everything from e-commerce to food delivery to feature phones — and that building with the Breez SDK is easier than ever.
A big Breez welcome to Bitmo, Bitpost, Brio, DIDx, Grimm App, Klever Wallet, Loom21, Mooze Labs, ordermoon, Sorted, Tokyo Bitcoin Base, and Yolat.
Now they’ve graduated, it’s your turn to enroll — get in touch to get started ⚡️
Bitcoin on Every Phone: It’s Sorted 📱
If we really want to bring bitcoin to everyone, we have to meet them where they are.
And right now across the world, there are around a billion people using feature phones and old Androids — the kinds of devices that dominate where banks don’t reach and most people are shut out from the global economy.
These are the folks that Sorted is looking to reach. After talking with the team behind KaiOS — one of the leading OS for feature phones — they saw an opportunity to build a wallet that works on the hardware people already have. It wasn’t just Sorted that saw the opportunity either — Tether backed the startup with pre-seed funding to help make it happen.
And now, with the Breez SDK under the hood, Sorted gives users full custody of their keys, a world-class UX, and support for both BTC and USDT — all on phones with less power than your fridge.
So while some are busy stacking bitcoin on corporate balance sheets, others are out there putting it in the hands of people. We love to see it.
A Klever Journey to Bitcoin 🤓
Last month, we kicked off a new series — Shoot the Breez — where we talk to founders and product leads building for people around the world — and discuss how bitcoin sits at the center of it all.
First up, we spoke with the awesome Bruno Campos, the CEO of Klever, who have 100,000+ monthly active users across Brazil, Nigeria, India, and beyond.
Bruno and the Klever Wallet team have always believed that bitcoin is best when it’s used — not just held. But turning that belief into a product was another story. They spent years trying to make Lightning work. It was clunky, hard to integrate, and the UX didn’t click.
The dream kept slipping just out of reach…until they found the Breez SDK.
Suddenly, the building blocks were there — and so was the momentum. With Breez, Klever were finally able to deliver the dream, bringing bitcoin payments into their app — no infrastructure headaches, no compromise on custody or UX.
Check out the full conversation with Bruno — the Klever journey, his insights along the way, and what it really takes to build for the people who need bitcoin the most.
Bitcoin in Bansko 🥡
Buckle up — this month we’re heading to Bulgaria (virtually) to catch up with the team at ordermoon. They’ve built a full-service, bitcoin-based food delivery app that’s helping grow bitcoin payments among restaurants, drivers, and droves of hungry Bulgarians.
Here’s a peek at what they’ve built, live from Black Honey Coffee Shop in Bansko.
Наздраве! 🍻
Breez on the Road 🚴
It was another busy month for the Breez team, with events stretching across Europe and North America.
First up: Ross headed to BTC Prague’s Dev/Hack/Day, where he hosted a workshop diving into the Breez SDK – Nodeless, WASM, and how any dev can effortlessly bring bitcoin to the web. Ross is a bit of a Breez guru, so you should also check out his 21-minute YouTube tutorial on how to add bitcoin to any app with our SDK below.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Umi braved the 100°F heat (that’s 38°C for everyone else) at Blockworks’ Permissionless. She was spotted cycling between events, spreading the word about Breez, Bitcoin, and Lightning. While others pitched blockchains, she pedaled bitcoin.
That’s all for this month, folks. We’ll see you all again soon.
Until then, remember: the best time to get into Lightning is now — it always has been.
See y’all next time ✌️
