Sending sats is now as easy as sending a text. Another big month for bitcoin in every app: Radar launched an encrypted messenger with instant bitcoin built in, we partnered with Turnkey to bring non-custodial bitcoin to the products millions use every day, and the everyday bitcoin app Blink handed its users their keys. Breez has partnered with Turnkey to bring instant, non-custodial bitcoin to embedded wallets.
Many of the world’s biggest apps run everything from the backend, with one service handling millions of users. For these teams, adding bitcoin has generally meant holding keys on their servers, and holding keys makes you a custodian: licenses, liability, and a honeypot that never sleeps. The alternative was rebuilding the product around a device-based wallet, sacrificing the architecture that helped them scale to millions of users in the first place. They shouldn’t have to choose, and now they don’t have to.
With Turnkey, every user’s keys are created and stored inside secure enclaves, where nobody can reach them: not the app’s servers, not Breez, not even Turnkey. The two stacks fit together out of the box: Turnkey supports Spark natively and the Breez SDK is built on Spark. Pair that with Breez’s server mode, and a single backend can run wallets for millions of users without ever storing a key. Value only moves when the user says so, approved with a credential that only they hold.

Radar: Chat and Send Sats 💬
July saw Radar launch, putting instant, non-custodial bitcoin inside a new end-to-end encrypted messenger.
Radar is built by the team behind Cake, the folks who brought Lightning-fast bitcoin to nearly 2 million users earlier this year. Apparently that wasn’t enough of a challenge, because their next act is bringing bitcoin to a messenger millions use every day.
If you think about how sending bitcoin to a friend usually goes: they text you an address, you switch to your wallet, paste it, triple-check it, hit send, then switch back to the chat to ask if it landed. The money, and the conversation about the money, live in two different experiences. Two different apps and you’re the courier running between them.
Radar collapses all of that into one tap. It’s built on Signal, so your contacts are already there and there’s no convincing your friends to join yet another network. You open a chat, you type away, and when you want to send sats, you send them right there in the conversation. The payment is a message: it settles instantly, everything stays end-to-end encrypted, and the keys never leave your device.

Blink Goes Non-Custodial 🌍
Blink just added instant, non-custodial bitcoin to the everyday bitcoin app, powered by Breez.
If you haven’t come across Blink, it’s the wallet that grew out of Bitcoin Beach, the circular economy in El Zonte which showed the world how ordinary people could live on bitcoin. This month saw Danny join Robert Baggs on Cointelegraph’s Chain Reaction to explain why now is the time to build on bitcoin and how interoperability is changing what’s possible for builders around the world. As he put it:
“It’s about being able to move value, wherever you are.”
The Turnkey partnership also made the rounds: Bitcoin Magazine shared the news, Fintech Finance covered the launch, and the Human Rights Foundation featured it in their Financial Freedom Report.
